Coastal Investigators: Homeschool Program

We have launched our homeschool program!

Due to popular demand, the team behind the Coastal Investigators Program,Cath and Sam, are running an environmental themed homeschool program. Students will have to opportunity to learn outside and in our education room which is equipped with everything that a classroom needs.

Carry out fun and engaging experiments to learn more about marine chemistry and follow the clues to identify plants and animals.

Learn about citizen science programs you can get involved with and make some new friends!

Activities include biological drawing, bug hunts, engineering, and rockpool adventures. Wet weather options are available during the rain. 

The session runs from 10am - 1pm Monday 27th Feb. If the program is popular we will continue to run homeschooling during the term. 

Cost is $40.00 for the duration of the session. 

Numbers limited to 15 places!

Registration:

• If registering more than 1 child, please register each child separately.
• Please register your child's name - but include the name of the contact parent /guardian in the comments box.
• We will contact you in the week prior to the Program commencing to confirm details.

 Need to know:

This program is recommended for students aged 7 - 12. If your child is passionate about attending but is under 7 please contact the organisers using the email address below. Please be aware that during good weather students may be away from the classroom for an hour with or more with limited access to toliets. Outdoor activities are weather and tide dependent. A email reminder will be sent prior to the session. Outdoor activities require suitable clothing and footwear, hats and drink bottles.

Health and Safety:

Our two educators have valid Working with Children Checks and have undertaken behaviour management and child protection training. Both educators are certified First Aid providers and are trained in the management of anaphylaxis and asthma. If your child has a medical condition that we need to be aware of please provide a medical management plan, including written instructions for administering care.

We are committed to the health and safety of all staff and participants. If your child is unwell please do not attend the session.

Photo identification matching the name of the parent, guardian or person authorised for pick up, will be required on collection of children.
